Transition your Makeup from Winter to Spring with Neutrogena

It's that time of the year when we transition our wardrobe and makeup from Winter to Spring. I'm so excited for the weather to start getting warmer so I can rock summer dresses and lighter makeup (not that I wore a lot anyway).

Not sure about you but during the Spring/Summer I don't use foundation as much, unless I have to go to an event, a party or I have to do TV. In that case I use Neutrogena Shine Control Liquid Makeup. I've been using it for a while and my skin doesn't get oily until 6 hours later, which is good. I think shine control foundations are good not only for people with oily skin but also for those of you that live in a humid climate or where it gets extremely hot. I started using this foundation once I moved to Manhattan. Of course don't forget to use a primer you will notice a big difference in your makeup!

If you don't like to wear foundation, especially during the Summer, you can try a BB cream or a powder like this one from Neutrogena. When it gets really hot I use my moisturizer, SPF (VERY IMPORTANT) skip foundation and just apply powder to get rid of the shine.

Ya llego la Primavera, lo que quiere decir que llego la hora de renovar nuestro armario y maquillaje. Yo ya quiero que salga el sol y empiece a hacer calor para usar mis vestidos cortitos y maquillaje mas liviano.

No se ustedes, pero en la Primavera/Verano yo no uso casi base, solo cuando tengo que ir a eventos, fiestas o tengo que salir en la televisión. En ese caso uso la base de Neutrogena Shine Control Liquid Makeup ya que me ayuda a que mi cutis no se vea grasoso.  Esta base la empece a usar desde que me mude a Nueva York, por el cambio de clima, y la verdad es que me dura alrededor de seis horas antes que tengo que aplicarme un polvo que controle el brillo. Quiero recalcar que esta base no es solo para la persona con cutis graso, ya que mi cutis es normal, si no tambien para las personas que viven en lugares humedos o donde hace mucho calor.  También les recomiendo que usen una Pre-base (primer) por que el maquillaje se va a ver mejor y va a durar mucho mas tiempo.

Ahora para las que no usan base, especialmente en la Primavera/Verano, les recomiendo que usen una BB cream o un polvo control de brillo como este de Neutrogena. Cuando hace calor solo uso mi crema hidratante, protector solar y polvo de maquillaje

During the warmer months I also like to have that J-LO glow, don't we all? And I try to use products that are going to give me that luminous look. I recently discovered Neutrogena Healthy Skin brightening eye perfector and I'm hooked! I apply it under my eyes, a little bit on my cupid bow (above my lips) and under my eyebrows. It makes my skin glow!

Uno  de los maquillajes que a mi mas me gustan, es el de J-LO, y es que siempre se ve radiante. El truco esta en que usa productos que hacen que su cutis se vea luminoso. Hace poco descubrí un iluminador de ojos de Neutrogena Neutrogena Healthy Skin brightening eye perfector  y me fascina. Me lo aplico debajo de los ojos, en la parte de en medio de los labios de arriba y debajo de las cejas. Esto hace que cutis se vea radiante y luminoso.

My favorite friend during Spring/Summer is a bronzer! I like to contour my face with it. I apply it on my forehead, nose, chin, cheekbones and neck. Then, I finish off with blush, I like to use a pink or coral one depending on the look that I'm going for. I love that Neutrogena has this Healthy Skin Custom Glow that comes with six shades of coordinated blush and bronzer!

Mis amigos preferidos durante la Primavera/Verano son los autobronceadores y polvos bronceadores. Por lo generales el polvo bronceador me lo aplico en las zonas donde supuestamente el sol me va a dar mas, es decir en la zona de mi frente, la nariz, barbilla, pómulo y cuello. Luego me aplico el rubor, por lo general uso rosado o coral, dependiendo el look que quiera lograr. Me encanta que Neutrogena tenga ahora estos polvos bronceadores que vienen con el color de rubor perfecto también.

During this time of year I barely use eyeshadows, but if I do, I like it to have a creamy texture and a touch of gold, to warm up my eyes.  Neutrogena recently came out with six shades of  Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow  with  built-in primer that is supposed to prevent creasing, fading and smudging. I wore it on Telemundo a couple of weeks ago and it brighten my eyes and I didn't noticed any creasing, so that's good news!

Durante esta epoca del año por lo general no uso sombras, y si lo hago, me aseguro que sean sombras cremosas y con un toque de dorado para que me ilumine los ojos. Hace poco Neutrogena saco al mercado seis tonos de sombras Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow   la cual supuestamente tiene una formula que que previene que la sombra se corra o se cuarte. A mi en lo personal me funciono muy bien, la probe hace unas semana para un segmento que hice en Telemundo y no se me corrio y me ilumino el rostro.

I also ditch my black liquid eye liner, I feel that it's too heavy for Spring/Summer, and instead I use a softer eye liner and of course a great mascara. I love to wear fake eyelashes but sometimes during the Summer it's too hot for that.  To finish the look I apply a lip gloss or a color stick such as Neutrogena Mositure Smooth Color Stick, I'm obsessed with the texture, the juciy peach color and the smell (smells like fruits, you are going to want to eat it ha ha ha). I wore it on Televison with lipgloss on top of it and loved it.

Durante esta época tampoco me gusta usar delineador para ojos liquido, pienso que es demasiado para la Primavera/Verano, por lo que uso un delineador mas suave y un buen rimel/mascara . A mi me fascina usar pestañas postizas, pero durante el Verano a veces no te dan ganas de ponertelas. Para completar el look uso un brillo o balsamo con color como este de Neutrogena Neutrogena Mositure Smooth Color Stick. Estoy obsesionada con el color juicy peach, la textura y el olor a frutas (se lo van a querer comer, ja ja ja). Este color lo use en Televison con un brillo encima y me encanto.

Quick and Easy Side bun with L'Oreal

Ever since I moved to New York City, not a week goes by that I’m not at an event, a party or on a red carpet. The Big Apple is the city that never sleeps, so there are parties happening all the time and it’s the perfect excuse to get glammed up! So, besides picking the perfect outfit, I also have to make sure my makeup and hair are perfect, especially because I get photographed at these events and we all know that we don’t want to look back at pictures and say, “What was I thinking?” Ha, ha, ha.

Since I wear my hair down most of the time, when it comes to a red carpet, I love to put my hair in a bun, especially the side bun. I think it looks classy, sophisticated and glamorous at the same time. Plus, it takes me less than five minutes to achieve the look!

Desde que me mude a Nueva York, no pasa una semana sin que este en un evento, una fiesta o en la alfombra roja. La Gran Manzana realmente es la ciudad que nunca duerme, así que hay fiestas todos lo días; excusa perfecta para arreglarme.  Ademas de escoger el atuendo perfecto, también tengo que asegurarme que mi maquillaje y cabello están impecables, especialmente por todas las fotos que me tomo.

Como se han dado cuenta, por lo general uso mi cabello suelto, pero cuando tengo que asistir a una alfombra roja, me encanta hacerme un moño.  Creo que se ve elegante, clásico, sofisticado y glamuroso. Ademas me toma menos de cinco minutos hacermelo.

How to style a quick and easy side bun:

  • I begin by washing my hair with L’Oreal Color Vibrancy shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair like mine. This duo helps to instantly nourish color-treated hair and shield color from fading. If your have virgin hair you can use L’Oreal Smooth Intense shampoo and conditioner instead.
  • Then, I apply L’Oreal Color Vibrancy  Dual Protect spray that nourishes and conditions my hair while helping it protect against the heat and color fading UV rays.
  • I blow dry my hair until is completely dry. Then I part it to one side and tie it into a low ponytail with an elastic band.
  • Then I twist my hair until you form a bun and proceed to secure it with bobby pins.
  • To make sure the style stays in place all night I add Elnett hair spray. You know I’ve been talking about this hairspray since I started my blog!

Como hacerse un moño fácil y rápido: 

  • Empiezo por lavarme el cabello con champu y acondicionador L’Oreal Color Vibrancy  para cabello teñido como el mio. Si tienes cabello virgen te recomiendo que uses el champu y acondicionador L’Oreal Smooth Intense
  • Luego me aplico un spray protector de calor como L’Oreal Color Vibrancy Dual Protect Spray  y me lo seco con la secadora.
  • Despues me pongo la raya del pelo para un lado y me hago una cola. De alli le doy vueltas a la cola hasta formar un moño, el cual sujeto con ganchitos.
  • Para asegurarme que el moño me dura toda la noche me hecho la laca Elnett. Ya saben que he estado hablando de esta laca desde que emepce mi blog.

Bright Colors

Last week I attended a Neutrogena event and it was so much fun! I get invited to events almost everyday and this one was one of my favorites, because I actually learned a lot about skin treatment, their products and makeup.  I can't wait to share what I learned with you. That day was in the high 40's and it felt like Spring so I decided to wear bright colors. I can NOT wait to start wearing all my summer clothes.

Fashion and Maria Menounos

How beautiful is Maria Menounos? I had the pleasure of meeting her at a recent Marshalls event and she was really sweet. She even complimented me on my nails! Of course, you know I had to talk fashion with her.

FDM: What are your favorite trends for this Summer? MM: Bright colors, lace, camouflage and tribal!

FMD: What is your go-to outfit? MM: I think you can never go wrong with a great dress. You can wear it to a brunch, a wedding, a Christening, dinner etc.

El otro dia cononi a Maria Menounos en un evento de Marshalls y ademas de ser linda es super buena gente. Obvio que hablamos de moda :-) Antes de hacerle esta entrevista, me dijo que le encantaron mis uñas. Me sorprendio por que la verdad es que no me habia hecho manicure ese dia :-)

Estee lauder mad men collection 2013

What can I say? Estee Lauder Mad Men Collection 2013 has stolen my heart all over again I'm not sure what I love more, the package or the actual colors! The package has a 1960's feel to it and it takes me back in time.

Now, let's talk about the colors. The see-through blush in Light Show comes in a leather gold pouch - very glamorous - and it's a soft shimmery pink. The Rich, Rich Lipstick in Pinkadelic is also a soft and shimmery pink shade. I actually really like this lipstick because it's sheer but you can build it up. And finally the nail polish in Pink Paisley it's a pretty frosty pink, very girly and feminine. Overall I am obsessed with the collection and the package.  Right now it's part of my decoration :-) The collection is a limited edition and it's available this month.

¿Que les puedo decir? La collecion de Estee Lauder Mad Men Collection 2013 una vez mas me ha robado el corazón. La verdad es que no se que AMO mas si el paquete en si, un look muy de los 60's o los colores.

Ahora hablemos de los colores. El rubor en Light Show viene en una bolsita dorada - muy glamurosa -  y es un color rosado con   un poco de brillo. El lapiz labial en Pinkadelic tambien es un tono rosado con brillo. Lo que me gusta de este labial es que es suavecito, pero si te aplicas mas, el color se hace mas fuerte. El esmalte de uñas en Pink Paisley  es en tono rosado escarchado, my femenino. En conclusion, la colección me encanto. Ahorita es parte de mi decoración :-) La coleccion es limitada y esta disponible este mes.
