I still remember when we dropped the FLOR DE MARIA MILLY boots in season one. She became one of our best sellers so quickly, and here we are, all these seasons later… she’s still our number one boot. We’ve seen her on so many celebrities, but seeing you keep coming back for her? That makes me SO happy.
So when I started thinking about fall, MILLY was already on my mind. And somewhere between thinking about boots and imagining all the outfits, I kept coming back to leopard. In my book, leopard is a classic. But on MILLY? She was going to be the one you put on first, and then figure out the rest of the outfit around her. The boots were making the plans, ha ha ha.
Then came the swatches. So many swatches. You would think choosing a leopard print would be easy… until you find yourself taking them to lunch.
Yes, I took them to lunch. And to restaurants. And out to my backyard. I had them in my purse, because apparently I couldn’t leave the house without them LOL. I wanted to see what happened to those colors during the day, at night, in different lighting. Would I still love the same one? You know when you think you’ve made up your mind, but you have to look ONE more time? That was me.
But there’s another part of MILLY’s story that started long before I ever designed her.
Years ago, I got a pair of boots at Balenciaga. One of my friends wanted the same pair, but when she tried them on, they didn’t fit her calves. She was so upset. And I never forgot that moment. Here we were, excited about wearing the same boots, and she couldn’t get hers on.
I remember thinking, if I have my own shoe line one day, I want to do something about that. Now, our boots come in two calf sizes: regular and wider. And you can also wear them multiple ways, straight up or slouchy

For this version, I went with black lining and a black outsole. Every pair is handmade, and you already know how much craftsmanship means to me. I want you pulling these out of your closet years from now and still getting excited about wearing them.
And now, looking at MILLY in leopard… all those lunch dates with my swatches were worth it hahaha. I hope you love her as much as we do. Tell me, are you planning your outfit around her yet?
And that’s where I’ll leave you… for now.
