At the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2013 Fashion Show

When I received the invitation to the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2013 Fashion Show I was beyond thrilled, I had to call my mom to tell her the amazing news!!! It was a dream come true, not only because Mr. Oscar de la Renta is an amazing designer, but also because he is one of my favorites and I was one of the few that got an invitation :-) The day arrived and I took a car to the label's space on 42nd street dressed in all white and nude. As soon as I stepped into the building I could feel the energy and soon enough the place was completely filled with the creme de la creme. I think everybody, just like me, was excited to see Mr. Oscar de la Renta's new collection and celebrate his 50th year working in New York. Besides that, there were rumors than John Galliano - whom Oscar invited to his studio - would be there as well. So the excitement grew as the minutes went by. As soon as the first model came down the runway, it was unlike any other show I had attended. It was magical. The collection took my breath away and it was more than I expected. From the suits to the gowns it was just perfection. Oh, and even though Galliano didn't attend the show, I did see some of his influence on this collection. Bravo Don Oscar de la Renta you did it again! You can catch me on Telemundo 47 tomorrow at 10 am talking more about this amazing collection.

Cuando recibí la invitación para asistir al desfile de la colección de Otoño 2013 de Oscar de la Renta estaba bastante emocionada, tanto asi que tuve que llamar a mi mama a contarle la excelente noticia. Para mi es un sueño hecho realidad, no solo por que Don Oscar de la Renta es un diseñador como pocos, si no tambien por que es uno de mis diseñadores preferidos y yo iba a estar entre las pocas personas invitadas a este gran desfile. Realmente un honor. :-) El día tan esperado llego y yo llegue a sus oficinas en la calle 42 vestida de blanco y hueso. Ni bien entre al edificio pude sentir la energía de la gente, y mientras los minutos pasaban el lugar se iba llenando de la crema y nata.  Tanto yo, como los invitados, estábamos ansiosos por ver la nueva coleccion de Don Oscar de la Renta y  celebrar sus 50 años trabajando en Estados Unidos.  Ademas habían rumores que John Galliano - a quien Oscar invito a colaborar con el en su estudio - iba a estar presente en este desfile, así que ya se imaginan la espera. El desfile empezó y ni bien vi a la primera modelo, suspire lentamente. Este desfile fue como ninguno que había asistido anteriormente, fue  mágico. Desde los trajes hasta los vestidos de gala, todo fue confeccionado a la perfección. Bravo Don Oscar de la Renta, usted es un orgullo latino. Y aunque John Galliano nunca llego, si les puedo decir que vi su influencia en varias piezas de esta colección.  Les cuento que mañana estaré en Telemundo 47 a las 10 am hablando mas sobre esta colección,

New York Fashion Week Fall 2013 - Day 5

I hope you are enjoying my Fashion Week pictures because I still have a few more looks to share with you! I wore this outfit to check out Hernan Lander, Kaufman Franco (obsessed with this collection) and Reem Acra shows. Then I headed to the CoverGirl lounge to get pampered. I got my makeup done and I loved it, especially because I discovered the Queen Collection gloss balm in Pink Diamond, I dieeeeee for it. Plus the name fits me perfect, LOL, just kidding! Besides that I run into my blogger BFF Dany from Nany's Klozet and she had a little gift for me, a bag! Isn't she sweet?

Espero que estes disfrutando mis fotos de la Semana de la Moda de Nueva York por que todavía me quedan varios looks por mostrarles. Este atuendo lo use para asistir a los desfiles de la Coleccion de Otoño/Invierno de Hernan Lander, Kaufman Franco (ame la colección) y Reem Acra. Saliendo de los desfiles me encontre con mi adorada Dany de Nany's Klozet y juntas fuimos al lounge de CoverGirl para que nos mimen. Estando alli me maquillaron y descubri el balsamo de labios de la collecion Queens (hasta el nombre me pega jaja) en Pink Diamond, uno de mis colores preferidos ahora.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess 2013

This year I decided to make my blog a little more diverse. Besides showing you my outfit pictures, I want to have different sections "The Shoe of the Week" "About my Hair" and now "Beauty". I always get asked what products I use or I like, so here we go. Every Sunday will be dedicated to "Beauty" :-) I hope you like the idea!

This week I got the Limited Edition Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Collection 2013 and decided to put them to good use last night. I have to tell you that bronzers can be my best friends, I like that J-Lo glow, so I immediately wanted to try the Luminous Liquid Bronzer and the Bronze Goddess Powder. I LOVE them both, the color looked nice and not fake. I also gave the eyeshadow palette  'Batik Sun' a try and really fell in love with the colors and how they stayed on for over 6 hours. Can you believe I wore green eye shadow? To finish the look I added the Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée in Heat Wave to give me that extra glow. I'm already obsessed with this collection and you will probably be seeing me wear it a lot! The Bronze Goddess Summer 2013 Collection will be available at Estée Lauder counters and EstéeLauder.com beginning March 2013.

Este año decidi hacer mi blog un poquito mas variado, es decir que aparte de mostrar mis looks, tambien quiero tener otras secciones como "El Zapato de la Semana," "Acerca de mi Cabello" y ahora "Belleza". Y es que siempre me preguntan que productos son mis preferidos, cuales uso etc. Asi que empecemos hoy. Todos los domingos compartire algo sobre "belleza". Espero les guste la idea :-)

Esta semana recibi los productos de Limited Edition Estee Lauder Bronze Goodess Collection 2013 y decidi probarlos anoche que sali. Quiero que sepan que los autobronceadores son mis mejores amigos, el look tipo J-Lo me encanta.  Por eso inmediatamente quise probar el Luminous Liquid Bronzer (autobronceador liquido) and the Bronze Goddess Powder (polvo bronceador). La verdad es que me encantaron por que se veia un bronceado sutil. Tambien quise probar las sombras  ‘Batik Sun’ y me enamore de los colores. Hace mucho tiempo no me atrevia a usar sombras color verde, pero el resultado final me encanto. Ademas las sombras lucieron bien por mas de 6 horas.  Para completar el look use el brillo de Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelée in Heat Wave para que me iluminara el rostro.  En pocas palabras, la colección me encanto y segura me verán usarla mucho. Esta colección estará disponible a principios de Marzo de este año.

East Coast vs West Coast hair

I think my hair is probably one of my best accessories, that’s why I like to take care of it as much as I can. As many of you know, I moved from California to New York City at the end of 2011. As soon I moved to Manhattan, I noticed a lot of changes with my hair; I think it has to do with the weather, pollution, water, etc. So, my hair routine definitely changes when I’m in sunny California and when I’m in freezing New York. Lately I’ve been using L’Oreal Paris Advance Haircare Total Repair 5 products because it helps repair damaged hair- especially now that my hair isn’t the same since I added highlights.

Yo creo que mi cabello es uno de mis mejores accesorios, por eso me gusta cuidarmelo bastante. Como muchas de ustedes saben, me mude de California a Nueva York al final del 2011. Y ni bien me mude a Manhattan, mi cabello empezo a cambiar mucho; creo que tiene que ver con el clima, el agua, la contaminacion etc. Por esa razon, el cuidado de mi cabello cambia dependiendo si estoy en California o Nueva York. Ultimamente he estado usando los productos de L’Oreal Paris Advance Haircare Total Repair 5 por que ayuda a reparar el cabello maltratado, especialmente ahora que mi cabello no esta igual desde que me agregue rayitos.

My West Coast hair routine:

As you can tell I took these pictures when I was in California and let me just tell you that my hair stayed like that all night. I think my hair loves California! Every time I’m there my hair has more volume, the curls stay longer and it just looks prettier! Like I said before, my hair routine changes when I’m on the West Coast, I use less products and it takes me less time to style it. All I do is shampoo and condition my hair with L’Oreal Paris Advance Haircare Total Repair 5. Then, I apply a heat protection spray such as L’Oreal Color Vibrancy Dual Protect Spray and let it air dry. I style it as usual and to finish things off I spray a shine serum such as Total Repair 5 Multi-Restorative Dry Oil to give my hair extra glow!

My East Coast hair routine: Now, when I’m in New York my hair changes completely. I don’t think it likes the cold and humidity here, because it gets frizzy, has no volume and the curls don’t stay. So, I have to use more products and it takes me longer to style it. Do you East Coast girls have the same problems? I hope I’m not the only one! When I’m in NYC I shampoo my hair with L’Oreal Paris Advance Haircare Total Repair 5 and then I apply Total Repair 5 Damage – Erasing Balm – I’ve been using this conditioner for a couple of weeks now and I really like it. Then, I apply a volumizing spray and a heat protection spray such as L’Oreal Color Vibrancy Dual Protect Spray . Then I let it air-dry and I style as usual. Since my curls don’t like to stay in place while on the East Coast, I finish things off with Elnett hair spray. I’ve been using this hair spray for years and it is one of my favorites!

Mi rutina del cabello cuando estoy en la Costa Oeste:

Como se podran dar cuenta estas fotos me las tome cuando estuve en California y les cuento que mi cabello se mantuvo asi toda la noche. Creo que a mi cabello le encanta California. Ya que cada vez que estoy alla mi cabello tiene mas volumen y se ve mas bonito. Como lo he dicho antes, mi rutina de cabello cambia cuando estoy en la Costa Oeste. Uso menos productos y me toma mucho menos arreglarmelo. Lo unico que hago es me lo lavo y acondiciono con L’Oreal Paris Advance Haircare Total Repair 5 luego me aplico un spray protector de calor como L’Oreal Color Vibrancy Dual Protect Spray y lo dejo secar al aire. Al final me lo arreglo como de costumbre y para terminar me aplico un serum brillo como Total Repair 5 Multi-Restorative Dry Oil para que me de mas brillo.

Mi rutina de cabello cuando estoy en la Costa Este:

Ahora, cuando estoy en Nueva York mi cabello cambia completamente. Creo que no le gusta el frio y la humedad de la Gran Manzana, por que no tiene volumen y los rizos no se quedan en su lugar. Por lo que cuando estoy aqui tengo que usar mas productos y me toma mucho mas tiempo de arreglarmelo. ¿Ustedes que viven en la Costa Este tienen los mismos problemas? Espero no ser la unica. Cuando estoy en Nueva York me lavo y acondiciono el cabello con L’Oreal Paris Advance Haircare Total Repair 5 y luego me aplico Total Repair 5 Damage – Erasing Balm - he estado usando este acondicionador por varias semanas y me gusta como me deja el cabello. Luego me aplico un spray que da volumen y un spray protector de calor como L’Oreal Color Vibrancy Dual Protect Spray. Despues dejo que mi cabello se seque al aire libre y me lo arreglo como de costumbre. Y como mis rizos no se quedan en su lugar cuando estoy en la Costa Este, me hecho la laca de Elnett. La he usado por años y es una de mis preferidas.

New York Fashion Week Fall 2013 - Day 2

Second day of NY Fashion Week meant saying hello to blizzard 'Nemo' and trying to find an outfit that was fashionable yet warm, comfortable and snow appropriate - I failed on the last three. Remember I'm from Peru and lived in sunny California, so I'm not used to this weather. Either way I had a great time attending Czar by the Cesar Galindo, Project Runway, Noon by Noor, Nautica and Rebecca Minkoff shows. I will share more from these shows in the next few days!

En el segundo dia de La Semana de la Moda de Nueva York nos toco darle la bienvenida a la nevada 'Nemo'. Lo mas difícil ese dia, fue encontrar un outfit lindo pero a la vez comodo, que me abrigue y que sea apropiado para la nieve - creo que falle en los últimos tres. Y es que luego de vivir en Peru y California no estoy acostumbrada a este clima.
